Requirements

macOS app: macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple silicon or Intel.
Linux app: Python 3.10 or later with PyGObject and GTK 4, e.g. sudo apt install python3-gi gir1.2-gtk-4.0 librsvg2-common on Debian or Ubuntu.
Everywhere: Docker (Docker Desktop, OrbStack, Colima or native) and host PHP (Homebrew php@X.Y on macOS, distro packages on Linux). The HTTPS engine also needs mkcert.

Install

macOS app

unzip devkit_v0.11.0_darwin_universal.app.zip
mv devkit.app /Applications/
open /Applications/devkit.app

The app lives in the menu bar and bundles the devkit CLI at devkit.app/Contents/Helpers/devkit.

This prerelease is not notarized yet. If macOS says the app can't be opened, run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/devkit.app once, or Control-click the app and choose Open.

Linux app

./devkit_v0.11.0_linux_amd64_app/install.sh
devkit-gtk &

install.sh installs into ~/.local without sudo and links devkit and devkit-gtk into ~/.local/bin.

CLI only

sudo mv devkit_v0.11.0_darwin_arm64/devkit /usr/local/bin/
devkit --version
